Kims Club Offers Fresh Live West Sea Blue Crabs at 990 Won per 100g

On August 27, E-Land Retail announced that its supermarket brand, Kims Club, will be offering fresh live blue crabs from the West Sea, which are in season, at 990 won per 100 grams. Kims Club has secured a stable supply through direct transactions with fishing fleets, enabling customers to purchase blue crabs at reasonable prices in stores.

View original imageLive blue crabs refer to crabs that have been freshly caught, not frozen or processed. Merchandise directors stationed at the production sites carefully select the products to provide to customers.
With 100% sawdust packaging, the blue crabs can breathe and move in an environment similar to a sandbar, allowing them to be delivered alive to the stores and maintaining exceptional freshness.
To enable immediate packaging and shipment after harvesting, the number of packing facilities at the production sites has been increased from just one to three. Additionally, the sourcing areas have been expanded from Taean Sinjindo in South Chungcheong Province and Buan Gyeokpo in North Jeolla Province last year, to include Jindo in South Jeolla Province this year, ensuring a stable supply of live blue crabs from diverse waters.
Kims Club plans to double the supply of fresh live blue crabs from the West Sea this year compared to last year, continuing through the end of October.
A Kims Club representative stated, "According to customer surveys, live blue crabs are significantly more preferred than ice-stored blue crabs, so we have prepared only live blue crabs this year. Through direct transactions with fishing fleets, we have made it possible for customers to enjoy fresher West Sea blue crabs at reasonable prices."

Meanwhile, fresh live blue crabs from the West Sea will be available at all Kims Club stores nationwide every Wednesday to Friday from August 27 to September 12, exclusively for members of the E-Land Retail integrated membership program 'Emember,' at the stated price.
