"Together Parenting" is a program that Hope Friends Kia Aid has been running since 2023 under the philosophy that "the happiness of caregivers is the happiness of children." The program aims to share and help caregivers recover from their concerns and emotional burdens within child care facilities.
"Together Parenting Season 3" focused on providing caregivers with practical and sustainable methods for self-care and relationship recovery. In the "Worry Mailbox" session, led by relationship psychology expert Park Jaeyeon, Director of the Replus Human Institute, practical solutions were presented for the challenges faced by workers in the field, including building healthy relationships with children, communication methods based on respect, and ways to improve caregiving attitudes. The session also explored how to create a healthy caregiving environment.
To share the difficulties faced by field workers, Kim Sohyun, Secretary General of Cheongun Child Care Center, attended in person and shared real-life experiences, eliciting deep empathy from the audience. Following this, Seo Yooji, Director of the Korea Parent Education Institute, introduced specific methods for burnout prevention and practicing self-care under the theme "Time for Myself."
At the event, the "Together Parenting Kit," which can be used with children, was also distributed. The kit contains practical materials such as a caregiving attitude self-assessment test, daily conversation questionnaires, emotion cards, and self-care activity sheets, which can be immediately applied at home or in facilities to help restore relationships and facilitate communication with children. In addition, the UIM Quartet, composed of young musicians preparing for independence, performed a classical concert, providing caregivers with a time of comfort and healing.
Jang Soyoung, Head of Domestic Operations at Hope Friends Kia Aid, said, "Caregivers are the ones who support the daily lives and growth of children, but in reality, they often do not have the time to care for their own emotions. We will continue to actively support the 'Together Parenting' program so that caregivers can recover from their fatigue and both children and caregivers can create a happy environment together."
