This Time, It's Maenggu... Samyang Foods Launches New Jjangu Salted Bread Snack
30 Types of Randomly Included Maenggu Jjangu Stickers
Eco-Friendly Product Using Flexographic Printing Technology
Samyang Foods announced on August 27 that it will launch a new product, 'Maenggu Jjangu', under its snack brand Jjangu. Jjangu is a flagship long-running snack brand from Samyang Foods, first released in 1973.
Maenggu Jjangu is a new addition to the Jjangu Cannot Be Stopped character series, following last year's release of Whitey Jjangu. This new Jjangu snack features a salted bread flavor.
The product recreates the buttery and savory taste of salted bread using gourmet butter flavor and Himalayan rock salt, while enhancing the crispy texture. In particular, the use of Himalayan rock salt, reminiscent of Maenggu's hobby of collecting stones, adds an element of fun.
Stickers featuring various images of Maenggu will also be newly introduced. There are a total of 30 types of Maenggu Jjangu stickers, with one randomly included in each package.
Additionally, Maenggu Jjangu uses eco-friendly packaging produced with flexographic printing technology, just like Whitey Jjangu. Flexographic printing is recognized as an environmentally friendly method because it can reduce the emission of environmental pollutants such as ink and organic solvents compared to conventional oil-based gravure printing.
The new Maenggu Jjangu will be released on the official Samyang Foods online shopping mall on this day, with pre-orders starting immediately. Starting next month, it will be available for purchase through online and offline distribution channels nationwide.
