The aim is to help them feel at ease and focus on their treatment, even in an unfamiliar environment.
On August 26, Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital announced that it will implement the "First Step Companion Service" for patients and guardians visiting the hospital for the first time.
The First Step Companion Service was proposed during a nursing department executive workshop in preparation for patient experience evaluations. It was established by the nursing department to alleviate the significant anxiety that many first-time patients and their guardians experience in an unfamiliar environment, in addition to their physical and mental challenges.
In particular, since patients and guardians often get lost due to a lack of knowledge about procedures, payment methods, and the locations of clinics and test rooms, about 70 people-including nursing department executives, senior nurses, and outpatient nurses-will work in pairs to provide guidance.
