View original imageThe Suncheon City Hall Soft Tennis Team has once again demonstrated its strength on the national stage. At the 61st Prime Minister's Cup National Soft Tennis Tournament and the 2025 National Soft Tennis Championships, the team showed remarkable fighting spirit, winning two gold medals and one bronze medal.
The tournament, held from August 18 to 25 at the Okcheon Soft Tennis Court, featured fierce competition among more than 60 teams and over 500 athletes from across the country.
In this tournament, the Suncheon City Hall team’s men’s doubles pair, Ryu Taewoo and Lee Haneul, secured a gold medal by defeating the Sunchang County Office team with a score of 4-2. The team also added a valuable bronze medal in the team event.
In the subsequent National Soft Tennis Championships, the pair of Ryu Taewoo and Lim Minho claimed another gold medal by overcoming the Daejeon Dong-gu Office team with a 4-1 victory. As a result, the Suncheon City Hall team achieved a total of two gold medals and one bronze medal across both tournaments, clearly demonstrating their competitive edge.
On August 26, Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu stated, "This achievement is the valuable result of the hard work of both the athletes and the coaches," and added, "I look forward to seeing even more outstanding performances on both domestic and international stages in the future."
