76 Local Researchers and Policymakers Participate
From Understanding National R&D to Strategies for Securing Government Funding
The Busan Institute of Science and Technology Promotion (BISTEP, President Kim Youngbu) announced on August 26 that the "2nd R&D Planning Competency Level-Up Training," held on August 20 at the Busan City Hotel Convention Hall, concluded successfully amid high interest from local researchers and policymakers.
This training session lasted three hours and covered practical, field-oriented topics reflecting on-site needs, including: an understanding of national R&D projects, strategies for attracting new regional projects, and how to write business proposals to secure national funding. A total of 76 R&D project managers from local universities, research institutes, companies, and relevant city departments attended, demonstrating strong interest in strengthening their planning competencies.
The lecture went beyond simple theory, delving deeply into the budget structure and implementation system of national research and development projects, the characteristics of projects by government ministry, and differentiated planning approaches. In addition, step-by-step and time-specific strategies for securing national funding were shared, providing practical solutions to the challenges participants face when preparing actual business proposals.
President Kim Youngbu stated, "This training was a meaningful opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of national R&D projects and to learn practical strategies for securing national funding. We will continue to provide substantial training so that local researchers and policymakers can develop systematic planning competencies and contribute to the growth of the regional innovation ecosystem."
