Twenty-two secondary school mathematics teachers from the Daejeon region have published the "2025 High School Mathematics Creative Question Learning Materials Collection," which features questions they developed themselves through research.

The Daejeon Office of Education announced on August 26 that it will distribute the learning materials, developed by outstanding local teachers from March to August, to all high schools in the area.

This collection, which has been developed and distributed annually since 2014, is designed to help students in schools establish correct mathematical concepts, improve their problem-solving skills for creative questions, and utilize the materials in class.

Recently, there has been a growing emphasis on providing students with a broad range of mathematical experiences in mathematics education. Additionally, as the college entrance exam now excludes so-called "killer questions," questions of appropriate difficulty that can differentiate students based on the curriculum are being included more evenly. As a result, creative questions of various types not only enhance mathematical problem-solving skills but also help third-year high school students prepare for the college entrance exam.

In particular, the teachers who participated in developing these questions attended two workshops focused on practicing question types for the college entrance exam and acquiring practical concepts. They devoted significant effort to developing innovative questions in line with the evolving curriculum and admissions processes, so the materials are expected to provide practical support in schools.

Jo Jinhyung, Director of Secondary Education at the Daejeon Office of Education, said, "We hope that this newly provided mathematics creative question learning materials collection will be actively used in the field as a customized strategy for students at different levels, greatly helping to improve their mathematical abilities. We will continue to do our best to support substantial mathematics education in schools to enhance students' mathematical thinking skills."
