View original imageThis strategic meeting was convened to review the progress of the feasibility study for the designation of Uijeongbu as an economic free zone, and to establish concrete plans for developing the returned U.S. military base sites, which have been designated as candidate areas, into hubs for advanced industries.
In particular, the meeting featured in-depth discussions on the following topics: a comprehensive analysis of the growth status of strategic industries such as design, media content, artificial intelligence (AI), and biomedical sectors, as well as directions for establishing a foundation to attract investment; proposals for inter-agency cooperation; and ways to identify connections and strengthen competitiveness between national policy initiatives such as K-culture, artificial intelligence, and the bio industry, and the core strategic industries of the economic free zone.
