Sejong Regional Center for Oral Health Care for the Disabled Supports Low-Income Citizens Struggling with Medical Expenses
Agreement with the Smile Foundation
Support for Basic Livelihood Recipients and Severely Disabled Patients
The dental treatment program providing financial assistance for medical expenses to recipients of basic livelihood support and patients with severe disabilities-those facing difficulties in daily life-is achieving successful results as originally intended.
The Sejong Regional Center for Oral Health Care for the Disabled and the Smile Foundation announced on August 26 that, in accordance with the dental care agreement for people with disabilities signed on June 16, they are currently supporting the treatment and care of patients from medically vulnerable groups.
The center identifies and recommends patients from medically vulnerable groups through its resident social worker, while the Smile Foundation selects patients in urgent need-including those requiring non-insured dental care-and provides financial assistance for their medical expenses. This initiative is helping patients access dental treatments that would otherwise pose a significant financial burden.
Lee Sunhaeng, director of the Southern Integrated Health Center, stated, "The Sejong Regional Center for Oral Health Care for the Disabled will continue to identify and support various service projects to ensure access to oral care and treatment, in addition to providing financial support for non-insured dental expenses," adding, "We will fulfill our social responsibilities as a public healthcare institution."
