The "Volvo New Home Project," which began in 2019, has supported improvements in the residential environments of children and adolescents. Starting this year, the program will expand its support to include elderly people in vulnerable housing situations. In addition, the organization operates the university student volunteer group "Volvo New Home Builders" to enable the next generation to directly participate in enhancing housing welfare.
This year, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the partnership, the recruitment area for the second cohort of the volunteer group has been expanded from the Gyeongnam region to the entire country. The 30 final participants will engage in approximately six months of activities, including independent volunteer work, Korea Habitat construction volunteering, and talent donation projects.
Lee Gwanghoe, Secretary General of Korea Habitat, stated, "The journey we have shared with Volvo Group Korea over the past 25 years has enabled more families to live in safe and warm homes," adding, "Through this project and the nationwide expansion of the volunteer group, we aim to deliver hope across regions and generations."
