Koscom to Host 2025 University Student IT Planning Contest with Total Prize Pool of 26 Million KRW

Koscom, a leader in capital market IT, announced on August 26 that it will host the "2025 University Student IT Planning Contest" for university students next month.
This contest, under the slogan "Connect, Create, Compete - Connecting the Future of Finance," will focus on the development of an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for next-generation financial artificial intelligence (AI) agents.
Participants can choose from one of the following topics: ▲ Real-time financial data & market analysis ▲ Personalized asset, consumption, and portfolio management ▲ Financial regulations and compliance ▲ Any free topic that contributes to the advancement of next-generation finance.
Eligible participants are undergraduate students currently enrolled or on leave from four-year universities in Korea. Participation can be individual or in teams of up to four members. Graduate students are not eligible.
The evaluation process consists of a preliminary and a final round. In the preliminary round, up to ten teams will be selected through a document review. Teams that pass the preliminary round will advance to the final project stage. Teams that pass the preliminary round will receive a set activity fee.
The total prize pool is 26 million KRW, with the following awards: ▲ Grand Prize (up to 1 team, 10 million KRW) ▲ Excellence Award (up to 2 teams, 5 million KRW each) ▲ Merit Award (up to 3 teams, 2 million KRW each). All winners of the Merit Award and above will also receive the "Koscom President’s Award."
Kim Hyewon, Head of Koscom AX·R&D Division, stated, "Through this contest, we hope to discover innovative ideas that incorporate various AI technologies and see the creative thinking of university students lead to real innovation in the financial industry. Koscom will actively support young talent in connecting and growing the future of finance."
