Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on the 25th that it had signed an agreement for the 'Silver Barista Training Program' with Y&BCo (Miruku Coffee) at the Goyang Saemaeul Hall on the 22nd.

View original imageThe signing ceremony was attended by key figures including Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang, Kim Bugun, CEO of Y&BCo (Miruku Coffee), and Kim Changgyu, Director of the Goyang Silver Workforce Bank, among others.
During the event, senior baristas themselves conducted a hand-drip coffee demonstration, which was met with an enthusiastic response from the attendees. The participation of both the heads of the institutions and the CEO of Miruku Coffee in the demonstration added further significance to the agreement.
The agreement aims to provide seniors with professional coffee training to enhance their new job skills, as well as to expand practical opportunities for job placement and creation.
Through the agreement, the city will be responsible for policy and administrative support, providing a practical foundation to ensure the smooth progress of the program. Miruku Coffee will provide the training space and free education. The implementing agency, Goyang Silver Workforce Bank, will recruit participants, operate the training program, and support the participating seniors on-site.
Through this training program, participating seniors will have the opportunity to pursue a European Barista Certification. The program consists of theoretical education, practical training, and on-the-job training, and will be linked to field experience and employment opportunities through cooperation with local businesses.
