This agreement marks the first case in which a financial institution and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation have joined forces to enhance athlete welfare and advance the sports industry. It aims to promote a variety of financial support and cooperation programs so that athletes and sports industry professionals can grow within a stable financial environment.
The signing ceremony was attended by Hyungjoo Ha, Chairman of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Lee Hosung, CEO of Hana Bank, and Youngsoo Sung, CEO of Hana Card. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation in various fields such as finance, welfare, and education for the development of athletes and the sports industry.
The main points of the agreement include: the launch of a preferential partnership card for athletes; provision of retirement planning and asset management services for athletes; cooperation in the financial sector to diversify athletes' career paths and strengthen their self-reliance; and the expansion of loans and financial support for the sports industry. The parties agreed to establish a comprehensive financial system that supports athletes throughout their life cycle, from their active careers to post-retirement, and fosters the overall growth of the sports industry.
In particular, through this agreement, Hana Card will introduce a preferential partnership card for athletes, a customized financial product developed for registered athletes under the Athlete Welfare Act. In addition to the existing benefits of the "Wonder Card," the new card will offer further advantages such as discounts at partner establishments including Seoul Olympic Parktel and Soma Museum of Art, thereby providing practical benefits directly related to athletes' daily lives.
Hyungjoo Ha, Chairman of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, who attended the event, stated, "This agreement is a meaningful start, as sports and finance come together to become strong partners for athletes and sports companies. We will work closely together to provide customized welfare based on policy big data and to ensure the sustainable development of the sports industry."
Lee Hosung, CEO of Hana Bank, said, "By combining Hana Bank's financial expertise with the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation's sports network, we will provide real benefits to athletes and sports industry professionals. We will actively support the establishment of a foundation for the growth of Korea's sports industry."
Youngsoo Sung, CEO of Hana Card, stated, "Through the preferential partnership card for athletes, we will enhance the convenience of athletes' financial lives and contribute to the revitalization of the sports industry."
