Ulleung County Distributes 10,000 Disposable Aprons for Suicide Prevention Awareness
Resident and Tourist Participation
Building a Culture of Respect for Life
The Ulleung County Mental Health Welfare Center in North Gyeongsang Province has produced 10,000 disposable aprons featuring the suicide prevention counseling hotline (109) and an awareness-raising character. These aprons will be distributed to 40 local establishments, including traditional and exemplary restaurants, safe businesses, and good price businesses, to promote respect for life among residents and widely disseminate information on suicide prevention.
This distribution aims to enable both residents and tourists to naturally encounter suicide prevention messages in their daily lives by targeting restaurants that are frequently visited.
The disposable aprons are printed with the suicide prevention counseling hotline (109) and the contact information for the Ulleung County Mental Health Welfare Center, providing guidance so that anyone can quickly access counseling and support in crisis situations.
Eligible businesses can visit the Mental Health Welfare Center on the third floor of the Ulleung County Health Medical Center to collect the aprons. In addition to this apron distribution, the center plans to continue promoting a culture of respect for life through resident participation programs such as operating a suicide prevention promotional booth and the 'Ma-eum-Itda' online walking campaign.
