Namuga to Fully Launch AI Business with AIMATICS
On August 25, Namuga announced that it will fully launch its AI business in partnership with its affiliate, AI vision solution company AIMATICS. Last year, Namuga secured a stake in AIMATICS through a third-party allocation of new shares to maximize business synergy. Through this, the company plans to enhance its access to cutting-edge AI vision technology and actively integrate it into its own 3D sensing solutions, thereby further strengthening its technological competitiveness.
Namuga has recognized that, as the importance of AI technology rapidly rises across industries, it is essential to combine AI-based software capabilities with its 3D sensing hardware technology. AIMATICS is a leading company that has developed vision AI technology. It possesses unrivaled technology and commercialization experience in AI-based safe driving platforms and AI video recognition. By combining their strengths in hardware and software, the two companies are creating synergy effects that accelerate AI automation in manufacturing and the development of new businesses.
The main ongoing joint projects include the establishment of the In-Out Process Monitoring System (IOPM), which allows process managers to monitor manufacturing processes in real time via mobile devices from anywhere; the development of an AI vision inspection system for external appearance based on AI video recognition; and the commercialization of the AI-based Smart Access System (SAS).
First, the two companies are jointly developing the IOPM system, which detects anomalies in all production line processes and delivers alerts in real time to mobile devices. The IOPM system immediately issues a warning if an anomaly is detected or the defect rate rises in a specific process, and analyzes the cause and countermeasures using AI-based algorithms. With the application of AI deep learning, early warnings and preventive actions are also possible. The first phase, which links all factory equipment data to the cloud network, has been completed. The second phase, which will apply real-time monitoring and AI deep learning, is under development. Full implementation is targeted for October this year, with a live demonstration planned at the 'Namuga Tech Day' event scheduled for October.
The AI vision inspection system for external appearance is a system that can fully automate inspection tasks that were previously performed visually. The AI analyzes products produced in the manufacturing process to automatically identify defects, foreign substances, and shape inconsistencies. This significantly reduces the manpower required for inspection and enables standardized test results. Additionally, by linking with the IOPM, it can transmit real-time quality data, thereby achieving both manufacturing cost reduction and quality improvement.
Namuga is also building a next-generation intelligent security solution focused on the convenience of vision AI and personal data protection through the SAS project. Namuga’s advanced multi-camera module and top-tier AI algorithms not only recognize faces but also analyze the behavior of entrants, blocking face spoofing and unauthorized entry attempts in real time.
By applying the hyperspectral sensor technology of a Belgian company, which can recognize not only facial features but also skin tone, the system achieves more precise and higher-level authentication and security recognition compared to existing facial recognition solutions from other companies. Each biometric authentication device is managed in an integrated manner through the access control platform.
Through this collaboration, Namuga is expanding its business scope beyond camera module manufacturing to become an AI specialist company that combines smart sensing technology with AI-based data analysis. In the future, the company plans to further apply its technology to new fields such as logistics, smart cities, and bio-medical devices to pioneer new markets.
