Pocheon City Secures All 16 Sites for Second Half of 2025 Gyeonggi Soil Scent Barefoot Trail Project
Securing 1.12 Billion Won in Provincial Funding
All 16 barefoot trail sites submitted by Pocheon City have been selected for the second half of 2025 Gyeonggi Soil Scent Barefoot Trail Project, which is being promoted by the Gyeonggi-do Garden Industry Division.
The Gyeonggi Soil Scent Barefoot Trail Project is a key initiative led by Gyeonggi Province. It aims to promote balanced regional development and revitalize local communities through walking, in response to the growing interest in public health, the need to expand urban green spaces, and the increasing importance of utilizing natural resources.
The barefoot walking trail project is funded with 70% provincial support, with a budget of 100 million won allocated per site. With this selection, Pocheon City has secured a total of 1.12 billion won in provincial funding for the 16 trail sites.

Pocheon Mayor Baek Younghyeon stated, "The selection of these barefoot trails is the result of accurately identifying and pursuing the projects that citizens truly want." He added, "We will continue to implement citizen-centered administration so that residents can enjoy rest and leisure in their daily lives, and we will do our best to improve living conditions as a garden and leisure city where citizens actively participate."
