Once designated as an alley-type shopping district, businesses can register as affiliates for the Onnuri gift certificate, and the sales threshold for joining the local currency program is eased from 1.2 billion won or less to 3 billion won or less. Stores can also participate in various public projects, such as commercial district environment improvement and revitalization support programs.
The city explained that this designation has allowed it to exceed its initial goal of designating 14 alley-type shopping districts.
