Subin Joo has made a refreshing start.
On August 21 (local time), at the Mississauga Golf & Country Club (par 71, 6,661 yards) located on the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Subin Joo shot a 4-under-par 67 in the first round of the CPKC Women's Open on the LPGA Tour (total prize money of $2.75 million), placing her in 7th. Akie Iwai of Japan leads with a 7-under-par 64, while five players, including world No. 1 Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand, are tied for second at 5-under-par 66.

However, she shifted the momentum with an eagle on the par-5 12th hole and added "stepping stone birdies" on the 13th and 15th holes. Her total of 22 putts in the round stood out. She is three shots behind the leader.
Subin Joo is in her third year on the LPGA Tour, having joined in 2023. She has yet to claim a victory, with her personal best being a tie for 6th at the ShopRite LPGA Classic in June 2023.
