Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority Holds "On-site Waste Management Inspection Meeting"
Implementation Review of the "On-site Information Transmission System for Waste Management"
Centered on Waste Management Companies in Saenggok Industrial Complex
The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Seongho) held a meeting on August 20 to review the implementation status of on-site information transmission for proper waste management, targeting comprehensive recycling companies and collection and transportation companies within the Saenggok Industrial Complex.
The Authority announced on the 21st that 12 waste management companies attended the meeting to review the implementation status of the "On-site Information Transmission System for Waste Management," which has been in effect since April this year. They also listened to feedback and opinions from the field, including potential issues that may arise in the early stages of operation.
The on-site information transmission system requires the input of information related to the transfer and receipt of waste, measurement values, location data, and video data into an electronic information processing program during waste disposal.
During the meeting, participants reviewed and shared a variety of topics, including the status of workplaces that have completed mandatory installation of information transmission devices (GPS, CCTV), guidance on compliance requirements such as replacing outdated CCTV equipment, examples of inadequate device operation at certain sites, and methods for entering alternative information, as well as overall system management.
To help business operators maintain on-site management independently, the Authority provided a "self-inspection manual" that clearly organizes procedures and precautions that are easily overlooked in the field, using examples and charts. A "core inspection checklist" was also included to enable timely response in case of unexpected situations such as device malfunctions.
Commissioner Park Seongho stated, "In order for the resource value of waste to be recognized, stable waste management without illegal dumping or unauthorized storage must be the top priority. Therefore, I strongly urge companies on the front lines to make efforts, pay close attention, and actively implement the on-site information transmission system for waste management."
