President Lee Meets with Senior Democratic Party Advisors: "I Will Do My Best to Build the Nation the People Desire"
Kwon Nokap Expresses Gratitude for President Lee's Commitment
to Seeking Ways to Accelerate Unification Issues
On the 21st, President Lee Jaemyung met with the senior advisory group of the Democratic Party of Korea and stated, "I will do my utmost to create a new nation that our people desire, in line with the values of the Democratic Party and the path we have pursued so far."
At a luncheon meeting with the Democratic Party's senior advisors held at the presidential office in Yongsan that day, President Lee said, "Thanks to the efforts of all the advisors, we have been entrusted with the responsibility of a new government. I hope you will continue to show great interest and provide much advice," expressing his gratitude. The luncheon was attended by senior advisors Kwon Nokap and Lee Yongdeuk, former National Assembly Speakers Kim Wonki, Lim Chaejung, Chung Sye-kyun, Moon Heesang, Park Byungseok, and Kim Jinpyo, former party leader Lee Haechan, and Unification Minister Chung Dongyoung. Minister Chung attended as an advisor to the Democratic Party. From the presidential office, Chief of Staff Kang Hoonshik, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Woo Sangho, and Political Secretary Kim Byungwook were present.
In response, Advisor Kwon Nokap said, "During the five years when former President Kim Daejung was in office in 1999, I only visited the Blue House," and added, "I am deeply moved and grateful to be invited to such a gathering for the first time in 23 years following President Lee's election."
