Gwangju City Announces Public Recruitment of 58 Landscape Committee Members
Applications Accepted Until September 10
Experts Needed in Six Fields
Deliberation and Advisory Roles for Landscape Plans, Development Projects, and Architecture
On August 21, the city of Gwangju announced that it will publicly recruit 58 members for its Landscape Committee by September 10 in order to manage a pleasant and beautiful urban landscape.
This recruitment is a follow-up procedure to ensure the efficient and stable operation of the committee, as the current term of the Landscape Committee will expire on October 9. The Landscape Committee is a statutory body based on the Landscape Act, responsible for deliberating and advising on Gwangju’s landscape plans, development projects, buildings, and the preservation and management of landscapes.
The recruitment areas and number of members are as follows: 25 for landscape, 9 for design, 9 for urban planning, 9 for architecture, 3 for landscaping, and 3 for outdoor advertising, totaling 58 members across six fields. The term is two years from the date of appointment, with the possibility of one reappointment.
Applicants must be experts with extensive knowledge and experience related to landscapes, such as: associate professors or higher at universities; holders of a doctoral degree; holders of a master's degree with at least three years of experience; holders of a professional engineer or architect license with at least three years of experience; or those with a bachelor's degree or higher, or an engineer certificate, with at least seven years of experience at research institutes, academic societies, associations, or companies. However, those who have already served one reappointment on the Landscape Committee or are simultaneously appointed to three or more committees under Gwangju City may be restricted.
Applicants should refer to the Gwangju City website (City News → Notices and Announcements), complete the application form and related documents, and submit them via email by 6 p.m. on September 10.
