Chungcheong Metropolitan Council Appoints Professor Lee Jongtak as Chair of Code of Conduct Advisory Committee
Attorney Yeon Chohee of Ongyeol Law Office Elected as Vice Chairperson
On August 20, the Chungcheong Metropolitan Council held an appointment ceremony for the Code of Conduct Operations Advisory Committee and conducted a meeting. The council formed the advisory committee based on the Chungcheong Metropolitan Council Members’ Code of Conduct Ordinance, appointing seven members with high expertise and credibility from academia, the legal profession, the media, and civil society organizations.
Chairman Noh Geumsik stated, "As a special local government established to lead balanced national development, the Chungcheong Metropolitan Council carries high expectations from residents of the Chungcheong region. Accordingly, a higher level of ethical awareness and integrity is required from our members. I expect the committee members to provide rational and fair judgment and advice so that the council can become a trustworthy and transparent institution for citizens."
Prior to the meeting, Lee Jongtak, a professor at Korea Polytechnic University, was elected as the chairperson of the advisory committee, and Yeon Chohee, the managing attorney at Ongyeol Law Office, was elected as vice chairperson.
Chairperson Lee Jongtak stated, "I will faithfully fulfill the role of the Code of Conduct Operations Advisory Committee to ensure that the Chungcheong Metropolitan Council earns the trust of the residents of the Chungcheong region."

The advisory committee will be responsible for checking compliance with the members’ code of conduct, receiving and investigating reports of violations, and providing advice to the Ethics Review Advisory Committee. The term of office is until July 31, 2028.
