Daejeon City will open 1,265 promotional billboards it owns free of charge to local small businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Applications for the use of these promotional media will be accepted from August 20 to September 16. This year, the number of available billboards has increased by 126 compared to last year. The media provided include 2 large billboards, 134 subway advertising panels, 1,128 bus arrival information terminals at bus stops, and 1 LED display on the exterior wall of City Hall.

This year, the city has newly added subway train ceiling advertisements and the City Hall LED display, further enhancing the effectiveness of the promotions. The subway train ads are placed where passengers' attention naturally lingers, and the City Hall display is highly accessible to citizens, so greater promotional impact is expected compared to previous years.

Eligible applicants include businesses headquartered or primarily operating in Daejeon City, such as: corporations or organizations designated for administrative or financial support under laws or ordinances; nonprofit corporations or organizations; and small enterprises as defined in Article 8, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises.

Production of promotional materials will also be fully supported free of charge. Professors and students from design-related departments at Daejeon University and Hanbat National University will participate as volunteers, handling the entire process from planning to design.

The city plans to select a total of 18 businesses through a review by the Promotional Media Operations Committee in October. The selected businesses will be able to display their advertisements free of charge for up to six months starting January next year.

Businesses wishing to participate can download the application form from the Daejeon City website and submit it via email by September 16.

Since 2016, Daejeon City has operated this promotional media program, providing free advertising support to 307 businesses to date.

Mayor Lee Jangwoo of Daejeon said, "We are continuously expanding the types and number of promotional media to reduce the advertising burden on small businesses," adding, "We hope this program will provide practical help for revitalizing the local economy and supporting business growth."
