In response, Uijeongbu City initiated emergency recovery efforts and, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on August 16, carried out extensive flood recovery activities along the Jungnangcheon section (from the Vietnam War Memorial to the Seoul city boundary).
Approximately 200 people participated in the on-site efforts, including around 100 members of local organizations from Howon 1-dong and Howon 2-dong, as well as Mayor Donggeun Kim and about 100 city officials. The activities included collecting floating river debris, cleaning areas around the walking paths, and removing wreckage.
Prior to this, starting August 14, Uijeongbu City took a proactive approach by urgently deploying heavy equipment to remove sediment and large floating debris, and by focusing on safety measures for hazardous facilities.
At the site, Mayor Donggeun Kim stated, "It is all the more meaningful to restore the river damaged by flooding together with so many citizens," and emphasized, "We will do our utmost to quickly restore this valuable recreational space for our citizens."

Uijeongbu City supported the military units by providing recovery equipment such as gloves and rakes, while the military contributed by deploying large numbers of personnel to assist with on-site restoration.
