Yeoreumsae Exhibition Concludes Successfully at Sinan Bonsai Garden
Establishing Itself as the Nation's Only Orchid Festival
A Unique Exhibition Showcasing Rare Native Plants and Regional Ecological Culture
The "2025 Yeoreumsae Exhibition," hosted by Sinan County in South Jeolla Province, was held from August 12 to 17 at the Yellow Sea Exchange Museum within the 1004 Islands Bonsai Garden. The event attracted over 5,000 visitors and concluded successfully.
This exhibition, the only event in the country themed around Yeoreumsae (Calanthe discolor), featured a variety of programs, including a special exhibition of rare native plants such as Heuksan Bibichu (Hosta yingeri) and Gaetguk (Inula britannica), as well as souvenir sales. Visitors enjoyed a unique experience, seeing and interacting with rare plants that are not easily found in urban areas.
The county evaluated that the exhibition helped promote the beauty and industrial value of Yeoreumsae, while also providing an opportunity to develop the region's ecological culture as a tourism and economic resource.
Kim Daein, acting governor of Sinan County, stated, "This event will serve as a turning point for the development of the Yeoreumsae industry," adding, "We will continue to develop the nation's only summer orchid exhibition to contribute to the spread of local ecological culture and the revitalization of the economy."
