Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Signs Business Agreement for AI Technology Demonstration
Demonstration of Marine Floating Debris Collection Robot Technology
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (Acting President Hwang Hakbeom, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 18th that it has signed a business agreement with Ecopiece Co., Ltd. (CEO Chae Inwon, hereinafter referred to as Ecopiece), a smart water quality source management robotics company, to promote the demonstration of AI autonomous marine floating debris collection robot technology.
This agreement was pursued to enhance the protection of port and coastal environments and improve the efficiency of marine waste management through the demonstration of next-generation marine cleaning robots that combine AI video recognition and autonomous navigation technologies.

View original imageThrough this demonstration, the Authority will review the feasibility of introducing AI-based marine cleaning technologies and expects to reduce both manpower and budget required for marine waste management within the port in the future.
In particular, by taking the lead in applying AI-powered automatic marine floating debris collection technology at domestic ports, the Authority is expected to contribute to the creation of eco-friendly and smart ports.
