IPA's Smart Port Maintenance Technology Advances to IAPH Sustainability Awards Finals
Selected as a Finalist Among 112 Global Projects, Recognized for Enhancing Safety, Efficiency, and Environmental Sustainability
Online Public Voting Open Until September 6
Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced on August 18 that its smart port infrastructure maintenance technology, developed in collaboration with related organizations, has advanced to the finals in the Infrastructure category of the '2025 Sustainability Awards' hosted by the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH).
This year, 112 projects from ports around the world were submitted for the Sustainability Awards. After an expert review, a total of 18 projects, including IPA's technology, were selected as final candidates.
The technology developed by IPA in partnership with the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology and the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology utilizes artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, and underwater robots to enable real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance of port facilities. This technology is recognized for enhancing port safety, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
The winners of this year's Sustainability Awards finals will be determined by combining expert evaluations (70%) and an online public vote (30%). The online voting is open to everyone on the official IAPH website until 7:00 a.m. KST on September 6.
IPA plans to offer prizes worth 100,000 KRW to 20 participants selected by lottery from those who take part in the awards voting by September 6.
