Daejeon Design Promotion Agency (President Changki Lee) has achieved its first official overseas exchange by establishing international cooperation with the Shenzhen Industrial Design Association (President Changhong Peng) of China.

On August 18, the two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for international exchange and cooperation at the School of Design, Southern University of Science and Technology in China.

Through this agreement, they have agreed to collaborate in various areas, including fostering the design industry, discovering international joint projects, and providing design consulting and research. By doing so, they aim to combine the technology-based design capabilities of Daejeon and Shenzhen, and to strengthen their competitiveness in the global market.

President Changki Lee stated, "Like Daejeon, Shenzhen is a city where an industrial ecosystem integrating technology, design, and manufacturing is actively being developed. By combining the outstanding technological capabilities and creativity of both regions, we will build a competitive design industry model for the global market and continue to identify projects that can deliver tangible results."

President Changhong Peng also commented, "The cooperation between Shenzhen and Daejeon will become a new driving force for the development of Asia's design ecosystem. I look forward to both organizations creating a variety of projects together, based on long-term trust and partnership."

As the first step of the agreement, a Korea-China university student exchange design workshop will be held from August 18 to 24, with participation from 10 outstanding KDM+ design talents from Daejeon and the Chungcheong region, as well as local design students from Southern University of Science and Technology, Suzhou University, and other institutions in China.

Participants will jointly propose future-oriented smart bus stop and node designs based on Shenzhen's autonomous driving technologies, and will seek creative solutions that integrate the design perspectives and technological strengths of both countries.
