Next, an oriental pharmacist introduced key medicinal herbs such as deer antler, angelica, and ginseng, and explained the preparation process and efficacy of herbal medicine. Students had the opportunity to touch and smell the medicinal herbs, deepening their understanding of oriental pharmacy and herbal medicine.
Woo In, Director of Incheon Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital, introduced the concepts of oriental medicine doctors and oriental medicine, and explained oriental treatments using a body model marked with acupuncture points. There was also a Q&A session where students could ask questions about oriental medicine that they had been curious about. In addition, explanations were provided about various other professions such as radiologic technologists and physical therapists, and the program concluded with a tour of the hospital facilities.
Director Woo In stated, "I hope this experience provided students with a broad understanding of the medical field and a meaningful opportunity to explore potential career paths," adding, "We will continue to offer a variety of programs that benefit not only young people but the local community as a whole."
