Mercury Turns a Profit in Q2... Accelerates Defense and Public AIoT Solution Supply in Second Half
Mercury, a company specializing in information and communications equipment, announced on August 18 that it has disclosed its second-quarter results and successfully turned a profit for the quarter despite uncertain business conditions both domestically and internationally.
On a standalone basis, Mercury recorded sales of 28.4 billion KRW and an operating profit of 260 million KRW in the second quarter. The company explained, "The expansion of WiFi AP supply, driven by a promotion celebrating KT surpassing 10 million high-speed internet subscribers, was a key factor in improving our performance." Mercury added, "Despite uncertainties stemming from U.S. tariff policies and instability in global supply chains, we achieved a quarterly profit turnaround by maintaining a stable production and supply system."
Regarding the outlook for the second half of the year, the company stated, "Major project deliveries in the defense business segment, including the Maritime Operations Satellite Communication System (MOSCOS-II) and the rear area satellite communication system combat efficiency improvement project, are set to accelerate." Mercury also said, "We expect to expand supply for fire safety and senior community center projects utilizing AIoT solutions."
In addition, Mercury noted, "Based on cooperation with telecommunications operators, we anticipate growth in our public sector 5G router and WiFi AP business." The company added, "By leveraging these military, AIoT, and public sector projects, we plan to continue the trend of improving operating profit in the second half of the year."
