Six new items will be added: hepatitis C antibody, anemia, hemoglobin, red blood cell, white blood cell, and platelet tests.
These additions are intended to help detect infectious and hematologic diseases early, and the checkup items have been reinforced in response to the increasing trend of infertility treatments due to rising marriage ages.
The checkup items consist of 23 items for prospective fathers and 25 for prospective mothers.
The 23 items for prospective fathers include tests for syphilis, AIDS, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, anemia, and liver function, among others. The 25 items for prospective mothers include all the items for prospective fathers, with the addition of two rubella antibody tests, focusing on preventing rubella infection before pregnancy and managing fetal health.
