Police Rescue Mother and Daughter Trapped in Flooded Vehicle
The police swiftly rescued a mother and daughter who were trapped inside a vehicle that had been inundated by torrential rain.
According to Jongam Police Station in Seoul, at approximately 12:26 p.m. on the 13th, a report was received via the 112 emergency hotline stating that a vehicle had become submerged in an underpass near Seokgye Station, where a heavy rain warning was in effect. Responding to the call, officers arrived at the scene and discovered the mother and daughter trapped inside the vehicle in the underpass, where water had risen to waist level. The police used an emergency escape hammer and a telescopic baton to break the passenger-side window and safely rescue the mother and daughter from the car.
A representative from Jongam Police Station stated, "We will continue to patrol areas prone to flooding in our jurisdiction to ensure the safety of local residents in preparation for heavy rainfall."
