The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jongsik) announced on August 14 that, in light of the recent series of serious safety accidents resulting in casualties at construction sites nationwide, it will conduct a special safety inspection of 260 construction sites currently underway in the Gyeongbuk region through August 22.
This inspection is being carried out to ensure the safety of construction site workers and to proactively prevent accidents of the same or similar types.
The inspection will cover all construction sites under the jurisdiction of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, with a focus on key safety items directly related to the lives of workers.
Major inspection items include the use and management of personal protective equipment, the working environment of employees, the establishment of emergency response systems, the status of safety management and compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and the installation of fall prevention facilities.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to further strengthen the safety management system at construction sites through this inspection. In addition, the office will require immediate corrective actions for any improvements identified during the inspection and will thoroughly manage all sites to ensure safe operations through ongoing follow-up management.
