Facility Designed to Harmonize with Nature and Provide Space for Remembrance
Civil Engineering and Landscaping Plans Focus on Resident Convenience

On August 14, Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it had held a final report meeting for the "Geochang County Cremation Facility Construction Design Service," a major pledge project of the 8th popularly elected administration, aimed at resolving the inconvenience experienced by residents due to the lack of cremation facilities in the northwestern region of the province.

The meeting was attended by 27 participants, including county officials and members of the Cremation Facility Installation Promotion Committee. Reports were presented on the progress of the detailed design service, as well as on the interior and exterior spaces of the building, and the two fields of civil engineering and landscaping.

In the field of architectural design, the facility has been designed as a beautiful structure that embodies a modern and sophisticated image while harmonizing with nature, creating a space that serves both as a place for remembrance and relaxation.

In the civil engineering and landscaping design fields, the plans include site development, the construction of an access road, an overall landscaping plan, building layout, and traffic flow, all structured to maximize convenience for residents using the facility.

County Governor Koo Inmo stated, "Today's final report meeting was a meaningful opportunity to envision the completed appearance of Cheonsang Park, which is being developed with the goal of creating a 'dignified farewell, park-like cremation facility.' As residents have high expectations for the construction of the cremation facility, I hope that the project will proceed swiftly to resolve their inconvenience as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, Geochang County is currently carrying out the final administrative procedures, such as the announcement of approval for the county planning facility implementation plan, with the aim of starting civil engineering work next month, commencing construction in October, completing the facility in December of next year, and making it available for use in 2027.
