The number of inpatients at tertiary general hospitals has also increased for four consecutive weeks.
With more people engaging in indoor activities due to the holiday season and the ongoing heat, the number of cases is expected to continue rising for the time being. The county emphasized the importance of strictly adhering to respiratory infection prevention guidelines, including: covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing; immediately disposing of used tissues and masks; washing hands properly; ventilating indoor spaces for at least 10 minutes every two hours; and wearing a mask if symptoms develop.
In particular, high-risk groups such as the elderly and immunocompromised individuals, as well as staff and visitors at long-term care hospitals and facilities vulnerable to infection, should wear masks in crowded environments and seek medical attention promptly if they develop fever or respiratory symptoms.
