Aton Launches PQC-Based Virtual Keypad "Quantum SafePAD"
Fintech security company Aton announced on August 12 that it has officially launched its keypad solution, "Quantum SafePAD," which incorporates post-quantum cryptography (PQC) technology.
Quantum SafePAD uses a secure key exchanged via a post-quantum algorithm to randomize and encrypt user input-such as passwords or financial information-from the moment it is entered, before transmitting it to the server. Decryption is impossible at any point along the transmission path, fundamentally blocking all interception threats. By combining a randomly generated keypad layout for each session with end-to-end encryption based on the NIST-standard PQC algorithm, it provides a secure input environment even in the era of quantum computing.
Aton's security medium solution, mSafeBOX, which is a component of Quantum SafePAD, adopts a hybrid security approach that supports both traditional RSA/ECC encryption and PQC algorithms simultaneously. This allows companies to implement the solution through a simple software upgrade without replacing existing systems, minimizing the burden of transition.
When entering passwords or authentication codes, users can conveniently and securely protect their input information using PINs or patterns. The solution prevents memory hacking and blocks input data leaks, fundamentally defending against keyboard hacking without requiring any additional program installation.
With the launch of its PQC-based virtual keypad, Aton expects to deliver post-quantum security at every stage of the user experience-including input, authentication, transmission, and storage. The solution can be applied in various fields, such as entering sensitive information in public institutions, enhancing security for mobile financial apps, and enabling secure authentication in cloud environments.
