Daejeon City is making a final push to support local universities?Chungnam National University and Kongju National University (integrated model), Hannam University, and Hanbat National University?in their bid for official designation in the "2025 Glocal University 30" initiative.
On the 11th, the city submitted the implementation plans for official designation for three universities?Chungnam National University and National Kongju University (integrated model), Hannam University, and Hanbat National University?to the National Research Foundation of Korea.
As a result, from August 22 to 28, university-specific evaluations for official designation will be conducted in Gyeonggi Province, and the final selection of up to 10 universities is scheduled to be announced in September.
In this round of applications: ▲Chungnam National University and Kongju National University jointly applied as an integrated model with the vision of becoming a "Super-regional Glocal University at the Center of Korea"; ▲Hannam University aims for a "major transformation into Korea's leading K-Startup Valley" based on its specialized capabilities in entrepreneurship education; ▲Hanbat National University has set its sights on becoming a "global hub for innovative talent in AX-MRO and defense semiconductors, driving regional transformation," with a focus on artificial intelligence transformation, maintenance-repair-overhaul (AX-MRO), and the defense semiconductor sector.
