Enchem Accelerates Recruitment of Global Talent Including Former Samsung SDI and LG Energy Solution Executives
Appointment of Song Euihwan as Head of Technology Research Institute
Enchem, a secondary battery electrolyte company, is accelerating its recruitment of global talent, continuously bringing on board key personnel with extensive experience and expertise.
On August 12, Enchem announced that it has appointed Vice President Song Euihwan, who has over 25 years of experience in the secondary battery field, as head of its Technology Research Institute. Vice President Song led numerous R&D projects at Samsung SDI, including the development of high-voltage electrolyte compositions and additives, high-capacity cathodes for smartphones, and high-strength polymer electrolytes. In recognition of these achievements, he received the Jang Youngsil Award in 2008, organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Industrial Technology Association. Since 2020, he has served as head of the secondary battery technology research institute at Dongwon Systems.
Vice President Song earned his Ph.D. in electrochemistry from Sogang University and completed postdoctoral research at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Moving forward, he plans to focus on research and development of new technologies not only for electric vehicle electrolytes, but also for all-solid-state batteries and energy storage systems (ESS) across various secondary battery fields.
In the finance and management sector, Enchem recruited Executive Director Baek Hoon last month, who spent 30 years handling financial operations at Cheil Worldwide. Executive Director Baek was recognized for his expertise in IPOs, stock price management, disclosures, and domestic and international investor relations. At Enchem, he is now in charge of investor relations (IR), public relations, and management diagnostics.
In the sales division, Enchem brought on Executive Director Kim Jaegil this past May, who previously managed global client sales at LG Energy Solution. Executive Director Kim has accumulated extensive experience in sales, marketing, business strategy, and new market development for secondary battery batteries, serving global IT, consumer electronics, e-mobility, and automotive OEM clients. At Enchem, he is responsible for acquiring new customers and strengthening global sales strategies based on this expertise.
