The county announced that it is accepting applications from six households (eight individuals) at Gileunpuleumi Village from July 31 to August 20, and from six households (nine individuals) at Namdo Jeonwon Hanok Village from August 8 to August 18.
In the first half of this year, a total of 16 households (20 participants) lived in the villages for two to three months, engaging in a variety of activities such as job experiences, local tours, exchanges with residents, agricultural and fisheries work experiences, gardening and flower cultivation, and traditional culture experiences. Among the participants, five have actually settled in Jindo.
An official from the county's Population Policy Office stated, "This is a great opportunity to prepare for returning to farming or fishing villages by experiencing rural life firsthand," and added, "We will actively support those who wish to make a new start on Jindo, the Treasure Island."
Meanwhile, the county is implementing various support projects to help newcomers settle, including subsidies for farmhouse repairs, moving expenses, agricultural and fisheries materials, as well as loans for business startups and home purchases.
