The Geumsan County Gender Governance Subcommittee (Chairperson Jeon Hayeon) held the 4th Geumsan Women's Film Festival at Geumsan Cinema in Geumsan-eup on August 9. The event was organized to strengthen solidarity among local women and to provide a platform for empathy aimed at spreading a culture of gender equality.
The featured film, "Jeongsun," directed by Jung Ji-hye, delivered a profound message about the seriousness of digital sex crimes and the need to protect victims. It realistically depicted the psychological pain and social scrutiny experienced by victims, as well as their journey toward overcoming these challenges.
After the screening, a talk program was held with the audience, providing a meaningful opportunity to share opinions on the prevention of and response to cyber sexual violence, as well as support systems for victims.
The Geumsan County Gender Governance Subcommittee is taking the lead in culturally communicating and spreading awareness of women's issues within the local community through the women's film festival.
Chairperson Jeon Hayeon stated, "The film 'Jeongsun' compels us to confront the increasingly serious problem of cyber sexual violence in the digital age," adding, "I hope this work serves as an opportunity to broaden consensus on victim protection and the spread of a culture of gender equality."
