Governor Requests Cooperation from Government and Ruling Party for Swift Passage of Special Law
Kim Taeheum, Governor of Chungnam Province, emphasized that the administrative integration of Daejeon and Chungnam will serve as a key catalyst for advancing the new government's "Five Axes, Three Special Zones" national balanced development strategy.
At the 79th Directors' Meeting held at the provincial government office on August 11, Governor Kim stated, "On July 29, the Chungnam Provincial Council passed a resolution in favor of the administrative integration of Daejeon and Chungnam. Over the past weeks, we have held community briefings across all 20 cities, counties, and districts of Daejeon and Chungnam, and support for the integration has nearly doubled. Now, with official resolutions from both councils, the process is complete."
He continued, "The integration of Daejeon and Chungnam will open the door for the new government's 'Five Axes, Three Special Zones' policy and can also foster cooperation between the government and the private sector. I urge the relevant departments to ensure that the special law is passed as soon as possible."
