Busan Office of Education Decides to Sell Closed Juwon Elementary Site... Sale to Be Completed by Second Half of Next Year
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) has begun the process of selling the site of Juwon Elementary School in Gaegum-dong, Busanjin-gu, which was closed last March.
Although the office initially considered using the site for its own purposes, given its high potential value due to its location in the city center, the decision to sell was made in response to ongoing requests from Busan City, Busanjin-gu, and local residents.
The Office of Education finalized the sale after review by the working committee and the Closed School Property Utilization Committee, in accordance with the "Busan Metropolitan Office of Education Ordinance on the Management and Utilization of Closed School Properties." The sale will proceed through a general bidding process under the "Public Property and Goods Management Act," making private contracts with specific organizations impossible.
Going forward, the Office of Education plans to establish detailed procedures for the sale, complete administrative steps such as review by the Public Property Review Committee and the Busan Metropolitan Council, and conclude the sale process by the second half of next year.
