Busan Office of Education to Host 'SW·AI Hackathon & Ethics Camp' for 120 Middle and High School Students
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education’s Educational Research and Information Institute (Director Lee Sunghwan) will host the '2025 SW·AI Hackathon & Ethics Camp' at the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry from August 13 to 14, 2025.
A total of 120 middle and high school students will participate in the event, engaging in two days and one night of immersive learning and discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) technology and ethics.
This year’s camp, held under the theme 'Thinking AI, Reflective Us,' is co-organized with the Seoul National University Big Data Innovation Convergence College Project Group. The middle school division will conduct ethical inquiry activities using generative AI, while the high school division will participate in a cloud-based autonomous driving algorithm design hackathon.
Participating students will experience immersive learning through team projects, hands-on activities, and presentations.
On the first day, there will be a special lecture on AI ethics and expert talks, followed by students defining and solving problems themselves throughout the entire process. The Office of Education aims to foster both creative problem-solving skills and a sense of digital responsibility through this initiative.
