The shorts submitted to the contest were 30- to 60-second videos designed to help people across the country easily and enjoyably practice energy-saving behaviors in their daily lives.
The contest period ran from July 4 to August 1, with a total of 24 entries submitted. Out of these, four works were selected as outstanding entries. The first-place winner was a music video introducing five energy-saving practices using numbers: using a fan and air conditioner together (1), wearing cool and breezy outfits (2), ventilating with natural evening breezes for 30 minutes, organizing the refrigerator with ingredients from all around (4), and having a no-cook meal for the day (5). These energy-saving methods were presented with upbeat music.
The second-place winner depicted children becoming "electricity guardians" at home and practicing energy-saving behaviors, such as not opening the refrigerator door frequently and using the air conditioner and fan together. The third place was awarded to two entries. One was an animation emphasizing that energy saving is a money-saving tip, showing how maintaining the air conditioner at 26 degrees Celsius can save 2,130 KRW per month, and using public transportation can save 53,820 KRW per month. These cost-saving figures were visualized with scenes of coins pouring out, delivering a clear message to viewers. The other third-place entry was a family-themed energy-saving video, humorously portraying easy and simple actions such as adjusting the air conditioner temperature and turning off lights in rooms and the kitchen, all shown through the warm interactions of a family.
The winning entries will be screened on a TV monitor installed in the lobby on the first floor of the KCCI building starting August 11. They will also be available on KCCI’s official YouTube channel and other platforms.
