Chairman Yoon Choi Offers On-Site Encouragement
OK Financial Group announced on August 8 that the OK Foundation held the 3rd Science and Engineering Academic Exchange.

View original imageThe foundation has been formalizing and regularly organizing the academic exchange since last year. It helps scholarship students share ideas across different majors, stay in contact after graduation, and collaborate in various fields.
At the exchange, more than 60 current and former science and engineering scholarship students attended and introduced their respective majors and research areas. They shared the latest research trends on a variety of topics, including artificial intelligence (AI), technology and society, semiconductors, and devices.
Heejae Park, a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University, also delivered a special lecture on the theme of "Innovation and Entrepreneurship."
Yoon Choi, Chairman of OK Financial Group and Chairman of the Foundation, said, "I hope that, based on the common bond of being foundation scholarship recipients, you will grow into global talents who collaborate in diverse fields and contribute to society and the nation. The foundation will serve as a bridge so that scholarship students can share their visions and create even greater synergy together."
Meanwhile, the OK Foundation Scholarship is the largest scholarship program in Korea, offering up to 2 million won per month to outstanding university (including graduate) students until graduation. Since its first selection in 2018, a total of 483 students have been awarded scholarships through the 14th cohort. Past recipients are currently active as researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), prosecutors, and lawyers at major law firms, among other roles.

This year marks the 23rd anniversary of the foundation's establishment. In addition to the OK Foundation Scholarship, it operates other scholarship programs such as the OK Global Scholarship (for the United States, Mongolia, Indonesia, and other countries), the OK Middle and High School Rugby Scholarship, and the OK Golf Scholarship. The foundation has provided approximately 32 billion won in scholarships to around 8,000 recipients cumulatively.
