IVE Tops Oricon, Billboard Japan, and Tower Records Charts in Japan
The group IVE has proven its popularity in Japan by dominating the country's major music charts.
According to Oricon Japan on August 7, IVE's third Japanese album, 'Be Alright,' ranked first on both the Oricon Weekly Combined Album Ranking (as of August 11) and the Weekly Album Ranking. By topping both charts simultaneously, IVE achieved a double crown on the Oricon weekly charts.
The Oricon Combined Album Ranking determines its standings based on CD sales, digital downloads, and streaming. Oricon stated, "'Be Alright' surpassed IVE's previous Japanese album 'Alive,' setting a new personal best, and recorded the highest weekly points among overseas female artists this year."
IVE achieved similar results on Billboard Japan. 'Be Alright' claimed the top spot on Billboard Japan's 'Top Albums Sales' chart (tracking period: July 28 to August 3), as announced on August 6. With this, IVE has now topped the chart with three consecutive albums, following their first Japanese album 'WAVE' and 'Alive.'
The group also ranked first on the Tower Records chart. 'Be Alright' secured the number one position on the Tower Records nationwide comprehensive album chart for the same period, further cementing IVE's dominance on major Japanese music charts.
'Be Alright,' released on July 30, includes a total of five tracks, including the title track of the same name. The title track carries a message of not fearing change and moving forward.
