Since 2023, Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation has been collaborating with the MetLife Foundation and JA Korea to continue this educational initiative. As of this year, a total of 148 children from 12 organizations have participated in the program.
This year, early financial education focused on games and hands-on activities was provided using JA Korea's teaching materials and expert lectures. The participants included 55 students in grades 3 to 6 from five local centers, including Kkumdongsan Community Child Center.
Evaluations comparing the children's financial understanding and attitudes before and after the program showed improvement, demonstrating the tangible educational impact of the initiative.
Seong Changhun, President of Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, said, "It is meaningful to have conducted the 'Fun Financial Currency Education for Children' program for three consecutive years," adding, "We will continue to work with various related organizations to help children access high-quality financial and currency education."
Meanwhile, since 2008, Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation has been continuously operating currency and economic education programs for people with disabilities, children, and the general public.
