Key issues discussed included the road cross-section design, economic feasibility, review of related projects, and traffic demand forecasting.
The section between Changjin and Gohyeon has long been an area where residents have repeatedly filed complaints due to the lack of a connecting road. The city plans to actively utilize the site of a decommissioned railway to construct a new connecting road approximately 1.8 kilometers in length and to improve a 0.6-kilometer access road. In addition, the city intends to convert the intersection from a grade-separated to an at-grade type to enhance accessibility and safety.
Park Jeongrak, Director of Urban Construction, stated, "Through this interim report on the basic design, we are incorporating a variety of on-site opinions to develop practical solutions to transportation inconveniences. This project, which utilizes the decommissioned railway site, will not only improve the efficiency of land use but also make a significant contribution to enhancing the transportation environment for residents."
