Daejeon "Second Mathematics Culture Center" to Be Built in Dong District Confirmed

The long-awaited Daejeon Second Mathematics Culture Center, which has been a source of hope for students in the eastern region of Daejeon, will be constructed on the western side of the access road within Daejeon Jayang Elementary School in Dong District.

On August 7, Heejo Park, Mayor of Dong District, Daejeon, expressed his welcome following the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education's announcement regarding the construction of the "Daejeon Second Mathematics Culture Center" in Dong District.

The "Daejeon Second Mathematics Culture Center" is a mathematics education hub facility designed to overcome the geographical limitations of the existing Mathematics Culture Center in Yuseong District and to provide students in the eastern region with more balanced educational and experiential opportunities.

The center will feature a variety of spaces focused on hands-on experience and exploration, including lecture rooms, an experience hall, an exhibition hall, a math tour hall, and a mathematics library.

In his welcoming statement, Mayor Park emphasized, "Until now, students in the eastern region have found it difficult to access experiential opportunities due to the distance to the Mathematics Culture Center located in Yuseong District. The construction of this new center will help eliminate educational barriers and serve as a valuable opportunity for more children to enjoy mathematics, fostering their imagination and creativity."

He further stated, "The area around Jayang Elementary School, where the culture center will be established, offers excellent transportation accessibility and location conditions, making it an optimal site for expanding educational infrastructure for future generations. Moving forward, we will do our utmost to ensure that the Mathematics Culture Center becomes a leading hub for future education and a foundation for the advancement of education in both Dong District and the original downtown area, through organic connections with the various educational infrastructure that Dong District has built."
