Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters of KHNP to Hold Open Call for "2026 KHNP Support Project"
Lee Sangwook, Head of the Gori Nuclear Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), announced that the call for proposals for the "2026 KHNP Support Program" will be held from August 8 to September 8, 2025.
The "KHNP Support Program" is implemented in accordance with the Act on Support for Areas Surrounding Power Plants. Under this act, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, as the power plant operator, uses its own funds to promote economic revitalization, environmental improvement, welfare enhancement, and cultural development in areas near power plants. The total budget for the 2026 program has been set at 8.5 billion KRW.
The Gori Nuclear Headquarters is conducting this call for proposals to identify projects that are effective and can be directly experienced by local residents. The selected projects will be chosen through a fair and transparent process.
In addition, starting with this year's call, an online application system has been introduced, allowing both online and in-person submissions. This is expected to significantly improve accessibility and convenience for local residents.
Detailed information and application forms for the program can be found on the Gori Nuclear Headquarters website or the Gijang County Office website.
Furthermore, to encourage the participation of more organizations, groups, and local residents, the Gori Nuclear Headquarters will hold an information session at 2:00 p.m. on August 12, 2025, at the Multi-Purpose Performance Hall of the Gori Sports and Culture Center in Jangan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan.
During the session, guidance will be provided on how to apply, how to prepare the project proposal, and how to use the online application system.
